A Gathering, Start to Finish

Your Day With Us

  1. Arrival

Families typically arrive a few minutes early to settle in, say hello, and get oriented. Because this is not a drop-off program, parents stay on-site and are part of the community throughout the day.

There is usually a casual, welcoming start as families arrive and children begin to reconnect or meet new friends.

  2. Opening Time Together

We begin as a group with a structured teaching time connected to our current theme. This is where we introduce ideas, set context, and begin building the foundation for the day’s learning.

The goal is not pressure or performance — it’s curiosity, engagement, and shared discovery.

  3. Hands-On Learning

After our teaching time, students move into a hands-on activity tied to the lesson. This may include building, creating, observing, experimenting, or working in small groups.

This part of the day is active, engaging, and designed to help children experience what they’re learning in a meaningful way.

  4. Free Play & Connection Time

We always leave space in our day for free play, exploration, and social time. This is often when some of the best learning and connection happens naturally.

Children may explore outdoors, continue a project, or simply spend time building friendships.

The Role of Parents

Parents remain present during the entire gathering. Some choose to engage directly with activities, others help supervise or connect with other families.

Over time, there may also be opportunities for shared teaching or support — but participation is never about pressure. It’s about community.

Out in the Community

Field Trip Days

On field trip days, we meet at a designated location connected to our theme. These experiences are intentionally chosen to bring our learning into the real world and deepen understanding through observation and experience.

Before You Visit

A Final Note

Your first visit is simply about getting to know us. There is no expectation to know how everything works right away. Most families find that the rhythm becomes clear very quickly once they experience it in person.

We’re glad you’re here — and we look forward to meeting you.
