Common Questions
A few things prospective families most often ask. If you don’t see your question here, we’d love to hear from you directly.
What grades does Seasons Schoolhouse serve?
Seasons Schoolhouse serves grades 3–8 (roughly ages 9 through 14). Siblings outside this age range are welcome to participate as long as at least one child in the family falls within the 3–8 grade range.
How often do you meet, and when?
We gather bi-weekly during the traditional school year — August through May — with breaks around the holidays. Our calendar follows the Flagler County academic calendar, so our breaks line up with the local school schedule. The full calendar is posted each summer, and accepted families receive it as part of their welcome materials.
Where do you meet?
Our gatherings and field trips take place at locations across Florida — primarily in and around Flagler County, with occasional outings into neighboring counties when a destination ties beautifully to our yearly theme. We meet in natural areas, community spaces, and partner venues.
What does it cost to participate?
Tuition is $500 per student for the academic year, structured in two semester installments: $250 for the fall semester, due in August prior to our first gathering, and $250 for the spring semester, due in December prior to our return in January. Because we’re a parent-participatory program, each family also pays $100 per participating parent, due in August, which covers field trips throughout the year. Families who prefer to pay the full annual amount up front are welcome to do so. We’ll review the complete fee schedule with you at your interview.
Are you a Step Up For Students direct provider?
We are in the process of becoming a direct provider with Step Up For Students. In the meantime, we provide detailed invoices and receipts for all student fees that families may submit to Step Up For Students for reimbursement. If you have questions about using a Step Up scholarship with our program, please reach out to danyelle@seasonsschoolhouse.org.
What does a typical gathering look like?
Our gatherings follow a gentle rhythm: free time to settle in, structured learning tied to our weekly theme, a hands-on enrichment activity, and unstructured time to close. Parents stay engaged alongside their children throughout. The environment is intentionally calm and well-paced — enrichment, not overstimulation. You can see a full walk-through on our What to Expect page.
Do you follow a specific curriculum?
Seasons Schoolhouse is an enrichment program, not a curriculum. Every family continues with whatever home curriculum works best for them — we complement your homeschool, we don’t replace it.
Our gatherings are organized around a theme-based approach. Each session, we choose an essential theme and live it out through enrichment experiences — not as a separate curriculum, but as the lens that shapes our time together. We draw from a variety of resources: books from our own library, carefully selected online materials, hands-on activities, and the natural richness of Florida’s local parks, nature centers, and historical sites.
This approach keeps shared learning layered, experiential, and meaningful, while your home curriculum remains the foundation of your child’s education.
Are you a school or a religious organization?
We’re neither, exactly. Seasons Schoolhouse is not a school, a tutoring service, a daycare, or a drop-off program — we’re a homeschool enrichment community. All families are welcome here, regardless of background or beliefs. Our program is shaped by a Christian perspective, which informs the warmth and intention we bring to our gatherings — but what we share above all is a love for our children and a commitment to growing together. Our Values page shares more about what guides us.
How do I apply?
Our application is a four-step process: a written application, time on our waitlist if needed, a conversational interview with Danyelle, and enrollment. You can start your application here — we review every submission personally.
Is there a waitlist?
Sometimes, yes. We cap our gatherings intentionally so every child is known and every family has space to connect, which means openings come up as families move through different life seasons. We keep the waitlist carefully and reach out as space becomes available — community fit matters more than speed. We do plan to expand our enrollment capacity in future years, though we intentionally cap our total size to preserve the close-knit, community-centered nature that makes Seasons Schoolhouse what it is.
